www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

The Pixel Lab provides European film and media professionals with essential training in creating, financing and distributing cross-media projects to build sustainable businesses and become competitive in the international marketplace. The course looks at the whole digital ecosystem for film and media businesses - how the way audiences are engaging with films across platforms is affecting the way that we will create, finance, distribute film and TV properties of the future.

Power to the Pixel is now accepting applications to The Pixel Lab, its leading cross-media workshop for experienced European media professionals.

Participants will come away with an unrivalled understanding of how to create, finance and distribute story IP across multiple platforms, and maximise audience engagement. The Pixel Lab is also a prime opportunity to cultivate new professional partnerships across different media industry sectors.

Encouraging a collaborative, project-focused environment, participants will have their ideas challenged and informed by the world's top practising cross-media professionals, with plenty of networking opportunities and one-to-one meetings.

This year's tutors include cross-media writer and producer Sean Coleman (UK); artistic advisor for Venice Biennale College & former executive director at ARTE France Cinéma, Michel Reilhac (FR); media architect and educator, Inga von Staden (DE). See the full list of tutors here.

All participants attend an initial six-day residential workshop in Belgium. Participants attending with a project go on to receive three months of distance mentoring, followed by a four-day workshop including attendance at PttP's annual Cross-Media Forum in London in October 2013.

Past participants include European funders, commissioners, film/TV/games producers, writers, story architects, interactive designers, directors, format developers, arts professionals, advertising executives, developers…

Applying with a project:
Only producers/IP owners who have extensive experience of taking a creative project to market will be considered.

Projects must have stories with the potential to extend across at least two platforms eg. film, games, TV, mobile, publishing, live event, social media, interactive.
