The Wellcome Trust is a global charity dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. They work with the broadcast industry to increase the quality, quantity and visibility of science and medicine in the media. Programme-makers are invited to apply for the chance to pitch an idea about health, biology or medicine to an expert panel.

Wellcome Trust Pitch welcomes submissions for projects that are unconventional and employ inventive ways of communicating science: Deadline April 26, 2013.

Applicants are invited to apply for the chance to pitch a broadcast, gaming or film idea to a judging panel. The ideas need to engage the audience with contemporary or historical biomedical science, in an innovative and accessible way. Awards of up to £10,000 are available and there could be more than one winner! The prize will enable the pitched ideas to be developed into high impact, well-researched proposals to help secure a UK broadcast platform and production funding. The pitch and the announcement of the awards will take place on Friday 14th June as part of the Science at Sheffield programme.
