Born May 25, 1941 in Brno. In 1967, he graduated from the Department of Directing, FAMU. Since 1970, worked for Krátký film Praha, Barrandov Film Studio, Czech Television, Czech Radio. His films and radio plays were at numerous festivals both at home and abroad. Head of studies at IMPULS, School of Audiovisual Media, Hradec Králové: a three-semester training course for local TV professionals. Lecturer for university teachers, students of film and theatre studies at Palacky University in Olomouc and at the Prague School of Journalism and Media (VOŠP). Author of university course books and other theoretical texts. In 1998 he became an Associate Professor, his public lecture “The Metamorphoses of Documentary Portrait“ was published in Film a doba 1/1999. Since 2002 - Professor at FAMU.
