Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Ahmatov Pulat

Me and You
Here the time also became a hero. After the tragedy of Beslan it stopped. For those who repose at the memorial cemetery of the victims of terrorists it stopped forever. For those who stayed alive but lost their nearest and dearest it disproves the trite opinion that time is the best physician. The main characters of the film are those who live with pain in their souls...

Rossosh...Regtime...
A malfunction of time happened in this town, halfway between Voronezh and Rostov. The endless refrain of the same affairs and talks created a shroud that surrounds the town like an invisible wall. The main characters of the film - street traders and a director of the local amateur theatre - try to fight their way through it.

Pulat Ahmatov was born in 1948 in Tadzhikistan. He graduated from VGIK in 1971. Worked at Tadzhikfilm studio. Now he is a director of documentary films and a scriptwriter.
