Three women - grandmother, mother and daughter - go to Iceland to find the grave of the Grandmother's father who died during the 2nd World War. Discovering Iceland makes them learn more about themselves and changes their relationship.

Mid-November, 1981. The country's preparing for a state of emergency, which was then the term for what later became martial law in Poland. A circle of Solidarity activists decide to withdraw Solidarity funds from the bank, to avoid their being confiscated by the authorities. Bound by internal regulations, the bank is required to notify authorities whenever a large sum to be withdrawn.
