Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Untitled
An attempt to work experimentally with narrative. The film is created partly from a dark room in which parts of newspaper articles were copied directly on the sensitive film layer using a photograph enlarger. The film is an imprint of the events that the article describes. it's about a little child who walked nearly 3 kilometers through the woods at night. The film tries to be a kind of reconstruction that we experience in reading a newspaper article. - Department of editing, FAMU - 1st year (auteur film).

Metre
The Prague Metro Map served as a graphic master for this film. The film is made up of three themes, just like the map, which has three lines. Each theme is assigned a Metro line, which decides on the number of shots (Metro stops), and the travelling time between the stops determines the lenght of the shots in seconds. It is a silent film, shot frame-by-frame on a digital camera and then completed. FAMU, Department of Editing (1st year - documentary reportage)
