The Persian Crocodile
In a remote area of southern Iran, two rangers come to rescue an adult freshwater crocodile that has been trapped inside a concrete sump. With simple means, a forked wooden club, a heavy blanket and some nylon rope, they try to catch the crocodile. Again and again, under the well-meant advices of the villagers, the two officers working on the slippery ground, trying to get closer to the snarling and threatening crocodile. The walls of the basin are high, an escape is hardly possible for the men and, when irritated, the crocodile moves with frightening speed. Many times the crocodile escapes the rangers' scope. Their plan eventually takes effect and even though the people seemed weak and vulnerable alongside the gigantic animal, they managed to retain its upper limb. The mighty beast is defeated, but has won its freedom.
