Tudor Lakatos is a 40-year-old Gipsy teacher in the ghetto of Somcuta, in the northern region of Romania, who wants to become famous as an Elvis Presley imitator. He translates most of the King's songs into the Gipsy language. One day, under the name of Elvis Romano (Gipsy Elvis), he sets off to the port city of Constanţa to try his luck with popularizing this kind of music, rock and rrom (Gipsy rock).
Born in 1974 in Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania. In 1998 graduated from the Acting Department of the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. 1998-2005 – Actress in the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj-Napoca (Romania). 2001 – Received the main prize for her monodrama at the Monodrama Festival from Timisoara (Romania). 2000-2004 – Work as editor and reporter for the Regional program of the Romanian TV, Cluj. 2006 – Produces materials for Duna TV, Hungary. 2004 – Participation at the documentary filmmaking workshop organized by the Argo Audiovisual Association. 2005 – Participation at a filmmaking course organized by Buglya Sandor, and at the Filmtett – Duna Workshop filmmaking summer camp. 2005 – 2006 – Student of the filmmaking course organized by the Dunaversitas Foundation.
