Begányi Peter
PornoRomance
PornoRomance is a story of a young man who lives for his unfulfilled dream. Like all of us, he has a dream and believes in its temporal fulfillment; in dream becoming reality. He wants to become a porn star and have a woman.
Erotic Nation
The main line of the movie is comprised by a story of the first ever Sex shop in Slovakia. Karol Raffay had started his own business after the November revolution in 1989. He and his family sex-business as well as democracy in Slovakia basically
undergo the same process and the movie is finding the parallels between these two.It tells a story of the shop, its customers, sexual history of the country with big volition and small self-confidence. It shows sexual life of Slovaks against a background
of social, political and other changes. Slovak citizens can vote in free democratic elections for the first time, they can walk into a legal Sex shop for the first time as well. The situation is the same as in the postcomunist countries in the Europe. Both
freedoms cause them problems.
I am a Tabloid
In this up-to-date and investigative documentary, the director tracks the popularity and purpose of tabloids. He asks Tomas Holetz, an ex-tabloid journalist, to discuss his work and its influence on our lives. Begányi presents personalities, journalists, reporters, A and B category celebrities, but also regular people who just buy the daily press… Through these people, the viewer learns more about this phenomenon that characterizes our times…
Konkoly
This story began in 1990, in Eastern Europe. There was a poor village and a mayor who was willing to try anything. Today, Kechnec is a place visited by investors, European politicians, and ambassadors from around the world. They all want to see this miracle. Jozef Konkoly inherited a village that was dying out, with water that was barely drinkable, with only remains of past agricultural state property, and high unemployment rate. Themayor was saved by a miracle: he had a dream about an industrial park. Today, this place is the home of one of the largest and best known parks in Slovakia. The village’s value grew to EUR 63 million. And the mayor has not stopped dreaming. But he refrains from talking about it, so that people wouldn’t have him for a fool.
