A starting point for the film is a story of Atijat and her husband Adil - a story that shows the world of dilemmas, experiences and marriage relationships in an Arabian family. After few years of living together, our heroine finds out that her husband is looking for a second wife. Reconciled with his plans and the reality she lives in, Atijat tells her story to Ania - a Polish young archeologist, the director of the film. In the background of Atijat's drama, there are numerous discussions on Sudanese ideal of beauty, the polygamy, the circumcision of girls. Both women and men talk to Ania, and introduce her into their deepest believes and convictions: the polygamy as a custom difficult for women and hilarious for men, the circumcision as a mean of becoming a real woman and achieving sexual temperance, and the way a woman and a man should co-exist in marriage. A touching picture, full of beautiful shots, focused on the things that help woman to feel fulfilled.
Henryk Musialowicz. Man
Henryk Musiałowicz is an artist recognised and valued around the world. His works have been exhibited for over 40 years. The paintings, graphics, spatial compositions and totems hardly fit in the studio. Never satiated, he constantly modifies and reshapes his works not allowing them to fall into oblivion. He commands them to live on. The 95 year old artist poses the most important questions with unabated enthusiasm. Can the passion for discovery and the path to the answer become a goal in itself? Will he ever seize to be amazed? The documentary by Anna Błaszczyk and Robert Kielak pictures a man full of energy and eagerness to work who keeps searching, wondering at, admiring and getting bewildered by the surrounding world with a childlike curiosity.
Darling, I Love You
Darling, I Love You is a film showing controversial relationships of Polish women with young lover boys from one of the numerous seaside resorts in Egypt. Such foreign trips have recently become increasingly popular among single women. Travel agencies are rushing to promise journeys loaded with unforgettable experiences. The film reveals what we can’t see in television spots or travel catalogues. It offers a shocking view of Hurghada through a different prism: Polish women - fascinated by exotic appearance and hungry for love, outraged Polish guys, and beach lover boys always ready to please a visitor.
