Lukavský and others. Petr Kotek's documentary film from the series "The Lives of Famous People". After the 4th year effort of JUDr. M. Vlk, Ondřej Suchý and Vladimír Just, the Czech Ministry of the Interior upheld the complaint by the General Prosecutors office and lifted the unjust verdict from 1947 on actor, director and theatre owner Vlasta Burian (9. 4. 1891 – 31. 1. 1962). With this the Czech King of Comedy was officially rehabilitated.
A Hunt for St Maurus
The story of discovering one of the most valuable objects of Czech cultural heritage. St Maur reliquary, dating back to the 12th century, was found under dramatic circumstances under the floor of Bečov nad Teplou castle´s chapel, where it had been hidden since the Second World War. Since 2002, the massively restored reliquary has been available to the public at the castle.

Black Hearts (…the Earth isn’t Round)
Four Roma families, four lives in four countries during four seasons through the eyes of four people. This is the third of a series of year-long observational documentary films by Břetislav Rychlík that explores human communities. After his internationally recognized films One Year (about the lives of seven elderly people from the highland villages and secluded dwellings of the Horňácko Region who were born in the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) and God's Quarry (one year in North Bohemia), the two directors, Monika Rychlíková and Břetislav Rychlík, and two photographers, Jindřich Štreit and Marie Zachovalová, present their joint view of four Roma families. The film was made from December 2006 to December 2007 in the following locations: a Roma settlement in Slovakia; a traditional Roma village community in Hungary; an industrial area in Poland, and a suburban Roma community in the Czech Republic. Roma museums and organizations from all Visegrad countries cooperated during the development of this film and during the selection of the protagonists.

The Mucha Phenomenon
Known and unknown moments in the life and work of the founder of the art noveau trend in painting. In 2010, a hundred and fifty years had elapsed since the birth of Alfons Mucha, a memorable figure not only in artistic but also in human terms. Coming from a humble background, he made his mark in the „great“ world, easily mingling with its upper crust. He won worldwide renown especially during his stay in Paris, mainly thanks to his six-year contract with Sarah Bernhardt. It is precisely this period on which the documentary concentrates. Its makers captured the essential milestones in the artist's life, showing the places in Paris which still remind us of him. In a retrospect they trace the beginnings of his career, describe his stay in the United States, and his work on the Slavonic Epopee.
Andrej Krob on the Move
A collage featuring the highly individual theatre director Andrej Krob, who on his seventieth birthday makes joyous use of free travel on public transport. This man of many professions visits the important places in his life:the Theatre on the Balustrade, the zoo and the former pub in Horní Počernice where, in 1975, he produced Havel's play The Beggar's Opera. During his wanderings, accompanied by photographer Bohdan Holomíček, he meets friends and random travellers. He explains how he sees Beckett's and Havel's absurdity, holds a rehearsal with members of his company and, at his cottage in Hrádeček, reminisces about the garden parties that were held there.
In the Shadow of Mother Earth
This documentary film is an homage to the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (8,848 m) and the Czech-Slovak mountain climbers who’ve reached or tried to reach its peak. This giant mountain, called Chu-mu-lang-ma or Sagarmatha in local languages, is named after the geographer Sir George Everest (4. 7. 1790 – 1. 12. 1866). The first person to reach its peak on 29 May 1953 was New Zealander Edmund Percival Hillary (20. 7. 1919 – 11. 1. 2008) and Sherpa Norgay Tenzing (15. 5. 1914 – 9. 5. 1986). – The testimony of top athletes are illustrated by amateur shots from private archives, maps of selected routes and a chronological overview of the expeditions in 1980 to 2002: not all of the expeditions reached their desired goal and not all of their members returned home... An especially tragic expedition occurred in 1988 when Dušan Becík, Peter Božík, Jaroslav Jaško and Jozef Just perished. The mountain climbers reveal the risks and “cruelty” that they encounter in the mountains: they often have to struggle with hopelessly injured or dying friends, abandon them in difficult moments or carry down dead corpses and bury them. They condemn the attempts of the Nepal government to commercialise ascents to the mountain in which clients are "carried up”. The country does receive considerable profits (up to fifty thousand dollars per person), but the moral values, which mountain climbers appreciate in "dialogue" and harmony with the mountain, are thus devalued. (This film is part of the Everest series.)
