Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Ordinariness
Portrait of a young man in urban evironment. There can be a magic in ordinary life.

H4X0R
I am a hacker. I work at night. Sometimes over the day. I am where you won`t let anyone to go. I am your nightmare. I am the picture you refuse to imagine. I read your e-mails, your suggestions to girls, I read about your lies, I read about your obscene desires. I see your interests, where you use to go and what do you want there. I know everything about you. I can destroy you and I can harm you. I can do anything... But I won`t.

Whore
"Let the people know how I live." The story of a prostitute on suburban streets. With policeman, social worker, priest, pimp and drug dealer. About her mother's death, miracles, rape and many dirty stories.

The Spider
The story of Pavol Pochylý, enfant terrible of Slovak mountaineering, who spent altogether 17 years in prisons around Czechoslovakia, had 5 wives and 7 children, and was proclaimed the best Slovakian climber of the century. He pioneered revolutionary climbing style and philosophy. His full solo winter traverse of the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains, later questioned and disputed, remains unrepeated. His “Ideal Direttissima” first ascent on the North Face of Eiger is also considered fictitious by many. He almost died on Mount Everest after experimenting with anabolic steroids. His constant need to trespass the borders of the human instinct of self-preservation brought him to a position of an extravagant lunatic who in his freedom provoked himself and others to great achievements. He was a controversial personality and the story of his life is breathtaking.
