35 year-old Tomek is just out of jail after 7 years. The day he is scheduled to leave, he takes a fellow inmate, Agnieszka, as his wife. He leaves, but she has to stay. Tomek tries to begin his free life again, while staying in touch with his wife.

Somewhere in Poland there is a city - one of thousands of the same kind. An annual fate takes place in there - one that is very similar to dozens of cities spread all over Poland. Every year ordinary people gather there to enjoy music and entertainment. Yet, although those people have the same defects and weaknesses as anywhere else, they still share the very same passion for fun and amusement. Pizza a la Polonaise portrays a small community of the Polish province town and shows the Polish spirit revealing all its lights and shadows.
