Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Estonian Stories. Pastacas
PASTACAS aka RAMO TEDER is a mystical guy. He makes strange and infatuating folktronical music, and draws on top of his oil-paintings with a ball-point pen (the name Pastacas in estonian means ball-point pen). His music is known from Finland to Tokyo. He lives in south-western Finland in a small idyllic village with his wife piia and daughter Pihla. He composes his music from miniature parts, which put together form a lyrically strange whole. Ramo is a traveller and musician, Estonian artist living abroad.

Estonian Stories. Babyface
The film is about 28-year-old Andrus Elbing aka Babyface who's life is like a ghetto-movie. He has left behind a tough journey from a street-kid to a jailbird. Inspite of his rough past, he has grown into a flaming poet and rapper. We follow Babyface after getting out from prison, adjusting to the newly-found freedom, and finding a way to deal with his past.

Margit Lillak, B.A. graduate from Estonian Academy of Art and M.A. graduate in scriptwriting from Royal Holloway College, England, directed two animated films for children Nina-Jass ja Näpp-Mall and Pambu-Peedu in 2001.
