Nikolay Makarov
Was born in 1955 in Tula, Russia. He graduated from the Polytechnic University in Tula and the All-Union State University Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow as a film director. He is the author many documentary films, three feature length films. He worked at central film-studios in St.Petersburg and made many documentaries for central Russian TV channels. He has awards of some international festivals, among them – New-York, Toronto, Venice, Barcelona, etc. He has an international award of FIPESCI (Federation Internationale de la Presse Cinematographique, Paris, France). Since 2001 he has been teaching directing as a professor of the Saint-Petersburg University for Cinema and Television.
