My Six Million Dollar Father
A self-made banker achieves success during the first years after the collapse of the USSR, but is then forced to flee the country in order to escape an arrest for illegal operations. Sought by the Interpol for more than 15 years, he gives a hint of his existence in a mental asylum in Kuala Lumpur...a film about a man who loses himself in times of change.
Ieva Ozoliņa has a master’s degree from the Latvian Academy of Fine Arts and has worked as an artist and exhibition designer for more than 10 years. In 2009 she entered the film programme at the Latvian Academy of Culture with the aim to shoot a film about her missing father. The documentary, My Six Million Dollar Father, will be her first film. As My Six Million Dollar Father is Ieva's story, she will act as both scriptwriter and director on the film.
