Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

100 Porsches and Me
"100 Porsches and Me" is a road movie about the obsession of driving a Porsche, a journey into the dreams and fantasies of those for whom a Porsche has become the purest expression of who they actually are. A film about the myth of a company and a brand which has fascinated people like Adolf Hitler, Andreas Baader, James Dean and, of course, myself. A film about a car which has become the synonym for my own ambivalent relationship with Germany, a country which can come along so conservative and bourgeois, but was still capable of producing this car - an icon of perfect design, a high-tech-toy, a retro-looking piece of the swinging 60s and a revolution in the most untypical of German fields: universal good taste.

25 and Going Down
Hormone therapies, genetic manipulations, magic enzymes, poisonous injections and vitamin pills - scientists are working hard at prolonging our lives and for once the dream of bathing in the eternal fountain of youth seems very real and very near. Indeed, it appears that the apparently inevitable and unstoppable destruction of human body cells can be slowed down. Scientists are rejoicing - and the demand is getting greater. Is this a pleasant prediction for a brave young world - or just a cheap trick from the miracle medicine cabinet? Whilst many biologists are warning about being beware of empty promises, some scientists are declaring "a war against ageing."
