Varga Ágota
Akác Street
Flora managed to move out of the Gypsy colony and her life changed for the better. No one else has managed to make their own living conditions fit for human beings by their own efforts, only through the outside (although not institutional) support.
Descendants
In the past few years in Germany, children and grandchildren of former Nazi leaders, high-power SS and Gestapo officers have spoken up about their ancestors. They shared their conflicting feelings: on the one hand, they renounce the crimes committed by their fathers and grandfathers, but still feel love and respect for them. No documentary has focused on such descendants in Hungary yet. For the first time we can hear the stories of László Endre`s son and his two grandchildren. We learn how they feel about a relative who was secretary of foreign affairs in 1944 and one of the men responsible for rounding up HUngarian Jews into ghettos and them having them transported to concentration camps.
The Light of Our Eye
Kati and Gy?z? are like average people, but their situation is not, because they - as a blind couple - have a baby. Ferike, their two-year-old son is healthy. From the time of his birth we spent whole weeks with the family… the camera documenting the time spent with them. The film is a collection of unexpected and unrepeatable moments.
