NY 10003 New York Founded 25 years ago by Jan Rofekamp, Films Transit International is one of the longest running, renowned and respected international sales agencies of quality documentaries with offices in Montreal and New York. We specialize in the worldwide release and marketing of high profile, theatrical and TV documentaries that are unique and have universal appeal, in two specific genres: Arts & Culture, which include all our documentaries about Arts, Culture, Biography, Cinema and Music. Society & Politics, which include all our documentaries about Current Affairs, Society, Politics, Human Interest and History. We strongly believe that major festival exposure adds prestige to a film's international career. Many of our films are selected for the major film (launch pad) film festivals, such as IDFA, Sundance, Berlin and Toronto and win prestigious prizes.

What are the ways the company gets involved? / Distributor, Executive Producer, Co-Producer, Sales Agent…. Will it be the same also the next year? Please explain if there are any changes planned:
Sales Agent / Distributor, and we get involved in a select number of film projects each year as Executive Producer, and /or Creative Producer.
Documentary genre(s) preferred:
Arts & Culture (Arts, Culture, Biography, Cinema and Music), Society & Politics (Current Affairs, Society, Politics, Human Interest and History).
Average number of titles annually acquired:
Each year we take on between 20-25 new films. We represent a total of 150 titles, and keep our catalogue to this size so we can keep it active, stay focused and give the films a serious shelf life. You should see us as a Haute Couture Documentary Boutique: we do not have many pieces, but they are all great quality, well made and looked after.
Three recent titles from international companies. Please specify the countries or territories:
Position Among The Stars (Netherlands), Into Eternity (Denmark, Sweden), You Don't Like The Truth: 4 Days Inside Guantanamo (Canada), Autumn Gold (Germany), One Lucky Elephant (USA), Presumed Guilty (Mexico).

Other platforms / VOD, mobile, podcasting, etc.:
We work in all media.
Preference regarding the length and format (single/series):
Hours and feature length, and we are increasingly working on and interested in mini-series and series.
What do you expect of the East Doc Platform?:
To meet filmmakers and hear about their projects, and hopefully find a couple films to represent.
