East Silver Videolibrary | March 6 – 11, 2012 | Prague

This year is the first one to introduce East Silver twice a year in two cities in the Czech Republic. While the upcoming East Silver Market takes place, as usually, in Jihlava in October, IDF brings you a new round of Eastern European documentary films also in March in Prague, titled East Silver Videolibrary and held within the new East Doc Platform. The main goal of the East Silver Videolibrary is to provide a compact overview of fresh documentaries from the region more than yearly, creating better conditions for the circulation of finished Eastern European documentaries and thus make the quality docs accessible in broader spectrum. As a result, East Silver makes all the selected films available online. An important feature of the film market is the set of Industry screenings, co-production breakfasts, lectures and presentations of distribution companies and key markets. In addition to that, East Silver devotes its year-long work to selection of approximately 30 promising titles within East Silver Caravan which is being dispatched to nearly 80 film festivals. As for the year 2012, we have recorded 128 festival appearances and 15 awards.

The database of all the documentaries that ever appeared at East Silver Market is available HERE and this year's selection will be updated by films included in East Silver Videolibrary.
