-- THE MAIN FEATURES OF IDF INDUSTRY PROGRAMME --
East European Forum | October 24 – 30, 2011 | Assembly Hall at Secondary Graphic Art School
- East European Forum Workshop | October 24 – 28, 2011
- Doc Presentations | October 29 – 30, 2011 + followed by Feedback Round Tables

The East European Forum is the region's largest meeting
of East European documentary filmmakers with Europe's and North America´s leading commissioning editors, distributors, buyers and film fund representatives. In the newly introduced presentation model (Doc Presentations followed by Feedback Round Tables), directors and independent producers offer their projects for co-production, pre-sale or other forms of financial support. There will be 8 projects presented, specifically selected for the Forum, and other 14 projects from the year-round Ex Oriente Film workshop which culminates in Jihlava at East European Forum with its third, closing session. Over 80 documentary films have been completed with the direct support of the East European Forum, with a number of them awarded at prestigious international festivals. Their database is available here.
We have already announced the line-up of tutors visiting East European Forum and the Forum workshop as well as the list of selected projects on our website.
East Silver Market | October 25 – 30, 2011 | Festival Center
As every year, a huge portion of the Industry programme in Jihlava will rest on East Silver Market, the first documentary market of its kind, exclusively promoting the documentary film from Central and Eastern Europe. The main goal of the market is to survey the documentary landscape of the region, to create a lucid catalogue and, since the last year, also a digitalized video-library which is available to a wide spectrum of film professions. An important feature of the film market is the set of Industry screenings, co-production breakfasts, lectures and presentations of distribution companies and key markets. In addition to that, East Silver devotes its year-long work to selection of approximately 30 promising titles within East Silver Caravan which is being dispatched to nearly 80 film festivals. Up to this day we have recorded 115 festival appearances and 14 awards for the year 2011.
The database of all the documentaries that ever appeared at East Silver Market is available HERE and this year's selection will be added at East Silver Market 2011. The best 33 films also feature on the nominee list for the annual Silver Eye Awards, determined by the international jury in three categories.
Doc Launch Presentation | October 27 – 28, 2011 | Assembly Hall at Secondary Graphic Art School
In Jihlava, the Doc Launch presentation annually introduces 8-9 handpicked feature-length documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe. Festival programmers, distributors, sales agents, members of the press and audiences get the first glimpse of films in post-production that are slated for theatrical release over the next year. Doc Launch focuses on extraordinary documentary projects ready for theatre distribution, many of them gained international acclaim and their list is available here. This year there are more than 60 applicants registered for the event, you can take a look at the final choice for the Doc Launch Presentation.
Even Doc Launch participants will have a chance to get trained by tutors on the eve of their presentation session which takes place on the 28th of October.
Project Market | October 27 – 29, 2011 | Secondary Graphic Art School
We have established Project Market in order to enforce networking activities and grant the filmmakers with an easy access to one-on-one meetings with commissioning editors, TV producers, buyers, programmers and sales agents. It is open for all the projects picked specifically for Project Market, participants of East Eauropean Forum, Doc Launch Presentation, East Silver Market, National Days as well as Ex Oriente Film.
