One World: Thursday Hosts Czech Premiere of Punk in Africa
On Thursday, you can look forward to the Czech premiere of Punk in Africa – a document packed with music that maps the growth of the punk scene in South Africa and its role in the fall of apartheid. After the screening (Lucerna, 7:15 p.m.), you can join our Q&A session with the film’s authors – Keith Jones and Jeff Brown – and then party with DJs in Café Lucerna! On Thursday, you can also look to another panel debate, this time after the screening of Taste the Waste which starts at the French Institute at 7.30 p.m. The wastage of food and pressure of retail chains will be discussed by Vojtěch Kotecký of Hnutí DUHA, food journalist Petra Pospěchová of the Czech daily Hospodářské noviny, and Czech farmer Jaroslav Štencl. On Thursday, you can also continue gaining our festival badges. It is high time you started completing the challenges in all seven festival cinemas and venues and got closer to winning the crystal badge – the popular beaver’s tail by Bořek Šípek!
