Thracke: Tzar Res Log-book Being Written Now
1300 BC, the Thracian king Rezus sets sail in a galley for Troy to engage in the battle on the side of the besieged city against the Achaean Naval League. How do you recreate such a journey today without being a king? By making your own ship and convincing 20 people to paddle from the Bulgarian coastline to Troy. This film tells the story of that “war”. This archaeological experiment exists only because of today’s heroes. One and the same men are making the galley, they are ready paddle and make the film. The author-director’s leather diary will serve as the written foundation of the story. Leafing through the book allows the time-travelling from Troy through ship’s construction to the trip itself. Thracke will question the constant features of men searching for the goal of their voyage. If you follow your dream, who are you now – a hero or an outcast?
