The third workshop session is dedicated mainly to communication skills and distribution plan and sales, training in pitching techniques, post-pitching negotiations and defining the potential of East European independent producers in the EU film market. The three sessions are completed with a two-day pitching forum where all participants pitch their projects.
The third session focuses on the practical skills of project presentation. Its main themes are distribution and negotiation techniques for documentaries, as well as how to communicate with European broadcasters and get them involved in the project. At the end of the session, participants meet with representatives from European / North American broadcasters, documentary industry decision makers, and people from non-TV funding, and get the chance to finance their projects. The whole session is focused on the following objectives: formulating project presentation strategy – training in pitching techniques, post-pitching negotiation techniques, as well how to use a pitching session, festivals and international markets. A special emphasis is given to marketing and distribution of completed creative documentary films, pre-sales, sales, and co-productions.
