North from Calabria

The film is an attempt to create a place – a town, where living is easy. Where people know each other, tolerate their faults, meet each other to talk and just be together. Making of this film was a kind of a happening. Actors and outside people moved into a small Silesian town and along with its inhabitants they were organizing a big fest. In a confined space of market and a few small streets, working, talking and spending time together has dominated life of Chełmsko Śląskie. Pictures From the Death Factory

This documentary tells about pictures and drawings created in the Auschwitz concentration camp. It is an attempt to answer the question of why so many prisoners put their lives at risk drawing a morning assembly in the camp or depicting the selection of Jews who were transported to Auschwitz. Why did they draw gas chambers or their fellow prisoners? Did they want to leave the testimony of their existence? Former prisoners of the Auschwitz concentration camp take part in Pictures from the Death Factory, as well as employees of The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum located in the former concentration camp.

Underground Women’s State

“Underground Women’s State” is an image of Polish reality, where anti-abortion law exists only on paper. Eight women who had illegal abortion decided to talk about their experiences, for the first time. The number of illegal abortions performed in the country is around 200 thousand yearly. Despite such frequent illegal abortions, there is no movement to change the law in Poland. The film shows helplessness of the social movement in the face of political bargains. Searching for answers, we turn to leading activists of the pro-choice movement, from different generations.
