The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.

Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Other activities

One of the world's biggest markets for international documentary co-production and sales – the Sunny Side of the Doc (330 commissioning editors and buyers from 120 channels in 50 countries), opens to the East European film professionals again this year. Thanks to the advantageous conditions that IDF negotiated with the Sunny Side of the Doc, East European producers have a chance to register at the East European Stand for discounted price. Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) invites all the East European producers to the special umbrella for East European Docs at the prestigious market Sunny Side of the Doc. East European producers have official place at the Sunny Side of the Docs market, which should help them with special conditions and supporting events. The offer is intended for all the East European producers. Filmmakers from Romania, Poland and Baltic countries (Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia) could first check the conditions at their local national stands but the East Euroean stand is open to ll the region.


Discounted price:

• 50% discount of the usual fee for the new coming East European producers - fee for new East Europeans is 269,10  € including tax (in stead of 538,20 €)
• 30% discount for the producers, who already participated at the market in the past - 376.74 € incuded Taxe
• and for everybody, for the second accreditation by each company  we propose as last year : 25% discount ,  that means 224.25 € incuded Taxe instead of 299 €.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact her. Number of participants in the Stand is limited; selection is based on the phase of the project and time of application. When applying, specify which projects/films you want to bring to Sunny Side and attach press kits.
