Kristýna Bartošová is a documentary film director. Her feature debut "The Dangerous world of Doctor Dolecek" was premiered at DOK Leipzig and won special mention in the international competition First Lights at IDFF Jihlava and in the Extra Muros competition at Pravo Ljudski FF in Sarajevo. The film was also nominated for the Silver Eye Award 2015 for the best CEE documentary film. It was awarded for the best Czech documentary film at Finále Pilsen and Pavel Koutecký Award.
Project “Reliable Relationship” (created together with Barbora Kleinhamplová, 2014) won the Jury and the Audience Award in the Other Visions competition at PAF Olomouc 2014. During 2016 and 2017 Kristýna was studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in atelier of New Media I.
Kristýna is also interested in dance films. She wrote her theoretical thesis about David Hinton and categorization of dance films from the perspective of a filmmaker. Her last dance film „Insomnia“ (2015) with Jana Vrána won a jury award at ScreenMotion Festival in London.
Currently she is working on her second feature „Human Beeing“ which is in development.
Kristýna also works as a coordinator of an international documentary film workshop Ex Oriente Film organized by the Institute of Documentary film in Prague.
