East Silver 2024
Open to: We are looking for short and feature-length documentary films produced in the region of Central and Eastern Europe (see list of eligible countries). Films can be completed after July 2023 or rough cut.
We are interested in creative films that tackle contemporary topics and challenge genre and media boundaries. We welcome films that offer an intense and engaging experience as well as novel perspectives of topical issues, ways of storytelling and the world itself. Only films that have not been previously submitted to the East Silver are eligible.
The deadline for submission is November 10, 2023.

EAST SILVER PROGRAMME 2024
East Silver Market
East Silver Market is the first documentary market which supports producers and distributors from Central and Eastern Europe. Films that are selected for East Silver are included in the East Silver Market and have pre-arranged one-on-one meetings with decision-makers. The 20th edition of the East Silver Market will take place at the East Doc Platform from March 22-28, 2024.
East Silver database – an essential referral spot for East European documentaries
Our user-friendly online database presents the most recent Central and Eastern European documentary production all gathered in one place and searchable in our archive of titles with full film credits and trailers. Films can be found by topic or by region, or we can personally filter and recommend films for you based on your interests.
A year-long access to online streaming for professionals
Easy-to-navigate online streaming at prod.streaming.eastsilver.net for East Silver films allows producers to make their titles available to festival selectors, distributors, TV buyers and other film professionals throughout the year from everywhere in the world.
Decision makers can stream fresh documentary films from the Central and Eastern European region.
East Silver Caravan – a support tool for documentary screenings at festivals
East Silver Caravan promotes Central and Eastern European documentary films at distinguished international film festivals and markets. Selected documentaries are submitted to international film festivals for consideration annually to increase visibility.
East Silver Awards
Additional support for circulation, networking and further financing opportunities is available via partnerships with key organizations, broadcasters, festivals and markets. These awards and partnerships connect the Central and Eastern European professionals attending the East Silver Market with Western audiences and professionals.
VoD Spotlight
An alternative online distribution for select documentaries from the East Silver collection that connects documentary filmmakers and VOD platforms.
