Synopse
Albena, a Bulgarian artist living in Switzerland, arrives at the railway station in her native Plovdiv. She is back to spend Christmas time with her old mother. At a celebratory dinner their conversation reaches a point of conflict: on that day 43 years ago her brother committed suicide. The mother doesn’t want to talk about it. The film moves between past and present, between Plovdiv, Prague and Basel to reveal the circumstances that led to brother’s death. Albena traces her family’s history through archival material from Prague in the late 1960s, where the family lived for several years. Gradually, mother and daughter open up their hearts to talk about the «brother’s incident», about the well-placed in the communist regime father and the political differences between father and son.
